Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Transfer it to the prepared baking sheet and gently score a border about 1 inch from the edge, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the puff pastry, staying within the scored border.
  4. Place the halved cherry tomatoes on top of the cheese, cut side up. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  6. Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use ripe, in-season tomatoes for the best flavor. Customize the cheese with options like goat cheese or feta for a unique twist. Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary can enhance the flavor. Serve warm for the best experience.
