Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Transfer it to the prepared baking sheet and gently score a border about 1 inch from the edge, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the puff pastry, staying within the scored border.
- Place the halved cherry tomatoes on top of the cheese, cut side up. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use ripe, in-season tomatoes for the best flavor. Customize the cheese with options like goat cheese or feta for a unique twist. Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary can enhance the flavor. Serve warm for the best experience.
